Fruit Icon Set

Deliverables

  1. 100 icons in .png and .svg formats

Process

  1. Wrote a list of the 25 most commonly used/eaten fruit

  2. Gathered reference images

  3. Sketched in thumbnail sizes to ensure designs would work at a small size

  4. Designed 100 vector icons in Adobe Illustrator, using a grid system and a uniform stroke size to ensure consistency between icons

Challenges

  1. Not being able to use color to differentiate fruits

  2. Making the botanical specific and accurate without being able to include much detail

Solutions

  1. Add small amounts of texture to increase recognizability

  2. Being very intentional with shape and scale instead of using detail for accuracy
